Downpayment Plus Program
To satisfy the pre-purchase education and counseling requirement for the FHLBank Chicago’s Downpayment Plus and Downpayment Plus Advantage programs, homebuyers may first select a counseling provider that has adopted the counseling component of the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling (NIS). After completing the online homebuyer education Express Course, the homebuyer will then complete one-on-one counseling with the selected agency.
If you are already working with a lender you should confirm this meets their requirements prior to registering as different lenders may have different homebuyer education and counseling requirements.
